Historic Farmhouse Restored Master Bathroom

It is impossible not to want to touch every surface when restoring a historic home. So the challenge becomes where you put your effort and, more importantly, how you allocate your funds. That’s why kitchens and bathrooms always seem to take up most of our time and money during renovations. This farmhouse was no different.

The Process

We partnered with the homeowner to create a spa-like oasis for the farmhouse’s master suite. Unfortunately, the original master bathroom was tiny, outdated, and awkward to get inside. Fortunately, with the plans to increase the size of the kitchen with a new first-floor addition added at the back of the property, it allowed us to enlarge the second-floor master bathroom as well. We installed historic penny tile for the shower floor and a furniture piece for the new vanity area. We were even able to refurbish an old cast iron tub; using both new and old materials found on the property, this truly stunning home will be enjoyed for generations to come.
